A 54-year-old Mayfield man is in custody and will be assisting with inquiries after a hearing was interrupted in the Sydney CBD today (Friday 4 April 2014). The incident occurred about 11.15am when the man entered the Castlereagh Street hearing room. He was detained by a special constable who sustained a head injury while struggling with the man. The special constable was assessed on site by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment to minor injuries. The 54-year-old was taken to Sydney City Police Station and charges are expected to be laid.
