A 65-year old woman, whose identity was withheld for patient confidentiality reasons, was among the crowd at the area of Roxas Boulevard corner United Nations Avenue who were waiting for the convoy of His Holiness Pope Francis last January 18, 2015. But by 12:40 pm, she was no longer part of the estimated six million people who were present in and around the Quirino Grandstand where the Pope held mass. The woman, who reportedly lost consciousness, has a negative pulse (pulse-less) when medics took her from Metro Manila Development Authority personnel who first responded to the patient. The medic team who responded to the incident reported that the patient was pale, unresponsive, and has negative initial blood pressure when they were checking her vital signs inside the ambulance. The attending medic immediately performed chest compression, and reported that after less than 15 compressions, the patient opened her eyes and was already conscious upon arrival at the emergency field hospital (EFH) located at the CCP complex, where she was monitored until her condition stabilized.
