A 75 year old lady has had a lucky escape after a small candle set fire to her bathroom last night. A working smoke alarm which alerted her to the fire and a closed door to stop the fire from spreading helped her get out safely. You may not expect it to happen to you but candle fires result in 350 casualties a year. Would you risk it? Make sure you always use candles safely and have a working smoke alarm in your home.
