A 9 month old puppy--Macho is on the kill list for tomorrow. He has a perfect AVERAGE rating. He has caught kennel cough while at the ACC and that perhaps is the reason they will kill him. Macho loves food, he loves to play, loves to give hugs and to meet other dogs, he loves petting...how can this much LOVE be packed into such a little pup? Though its clear from his paw-to-paw dancing that its sooo hard to be patient when theres a yummy snack just out of reach, Macho already knows how to sit for treats and will take them from my hand politely too. On leash hes a surprisingly fine walker, pulling slightly but very responsive to my voice and like a good boy he always comes running when called, golden eyes bright and eager to please. The only remaining gap in his resume is potty training but a schedule of regular walks and a patient new pet parent should soon have him back on track in that department. Surrendered to our care when his former owner left him with relatives who didnt have time for a pet, were told Macho lived in harmony with a child and was exuberant yet tolerant in his play with them. From our own date I can assure you he likes other dogs very much, greeting them through the fence with a gently wagging tail and a friendly nose sniff, totally chill when another puppy practically climbs the gate in her excitement to meet him. Naturally he aced his behavior assessment with perfect scores on everything from handling to food sharing and would be a great fit for just about any kind of family.
