A BIG THANK YOU! As founders, David and Barbara Craig, and on behalf of our Trustees we want to thank you all for your amazing support for the work we do taking care of these abandoned children, babies and #Ebolaorphans . We could not do this without you. We also want to thank Pastor Alusine Massaquoi, our Senior Pastor on the ground and all of our care staff and senior supervisory team in Sierra Leone. Their love, leadership, and dedication amidst harrowing and challenging conditions is awe-inspiring. Looking back at 2014, we never expected the year to end like quite like this. In January, we had anticipated our kids would already be in their new dedicated home on the hillside, our 29 church plants would continue to expand from #Bo into more remote villages and into #Liberia. We expected our skills training for vulnerable women would grow and diversify as would our regular medical outreach clinics to help save lives in areas only reached by foot. Our Farming Gods Way program offers many villages a low-tech way to increase crop yield and help feed the surrounding communities and brought in additional income through trade before travel restrictions. In March, when we brought a group of women from Gateway Church in Texas, (gatewaypeople) one of our global partners, to assist with our work, we were very hopeful and couldnt wait to return in June. However, things changed. We did not anticipate the massive impact of Ebola, not just from death and family distruction but from the huge number of Ebola orphans, the devastating economic impact on everyday living, even crime has increased. We are still hopeful, however. Why? We serve a big God!! We trust that the Lord will keep those we love in #Africa safe and protected. The people of Sierra Leone are strong and resilient. We are so thankful that none of the children in our care or those in the church family have contracted Ebola. Thank you for your prayers! In 2015, we still have many challenges ahead of us. Our running costs continue to climb exponentially as a result of the economic impart of the #Ebola crisis and resulting lock down. Currently schools are still closed, travel bans restrict trade and ministry, and obtaining food and resources requires much effort and creativity. We are reminded I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Enjoy this short video of a while ago of our kids getting a few presents!
