A Biafra activist and National President of Bilie Human Rights Group, Engr. Innocent Amadi, has said that the ongoing national conference would determine the fate of Nigeria. He praised President Goodluck Jonathan for inducing the conference saying that “it will right the wrongs meted out to different ethnic nationalities since 1914. Amadi, in a statement in Owerri at the weekend, aligned himself with issues raised by one of the delegates at the conference, Sir Uzoma Nwosu Iheme, in an interview with Christian Voice but said: “there is nothing to fear over the success of the conference as the president has done everything for the conference to be convened” and had distanced himself from the conference, not dictating to delegates. Sir Nwosu Iheme had condemned the attitude of the northerners who, he said were apparently there to make sure it did not succeed. Reacting to this, the Bilie Human Rights President said that since the north do not want what the south want, the option would be a breakup. “We stall stand on Aburi. If it (conference) does not work, why don’t we try Araba (breakup in Hausa language)? Whose language is the latter?”, he said. The Biafra activist continued: “Remember during the early days of the conference, the Lamido Adamawa presented his option to the conference by saying that if Nigeria does not agree with his position(s) he will take his people to the Cameroons. He said that if any person does not agree with the Igbo term which, according to him, is for equity and justice, “We simply tell them that we have Biafra as an option. He called for the inclusion of a clause in our constitution that would make room for secession “so that everybody will sit up”.
