A Blessed Day and Divine Providence Just how do God can show - TopicsExpress

A Blessed Day and Divine Providence Just how do God can show His blessings to His beloved Filipino people? When the numbers gathered in His name to celebrate His special feast day has reached between 6-7 million. Just how? As written in Matthew 18 19-20 “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Out of nowhere, the typhoon #Amang that brewed just days before the arrival of Pope Francis came to us as a surprise. Not to mention the name, Amang in Filipino kinship terminology refers to a grand father. First typhoon for the year. First pope to visit the country for this century and this millenia. First pope to have stayed in the country for a 5 days 4 nights visit, seems like a suitable length of time for a vacation package. And many more firsts for Pope Francis. For a religious gathering of a more 7 million strong faithful, when added in all locations, the moderate rain that showered the events held in Tacloban Airport and in Quirino Grandstand/Luneta Park is surely heaven sent indeed. Instead of letting His people suffer the blistering heat of the midday sun, we all enjoyed the cold and the wet weather. In the long hours of waiting, we all became cold and our extremities clammy but we were all patient and calm. We endured because we had in our hearts the burning fire and fervent desire to meet and greet in person His Vicar, #PopeFrancis, which for many of us is a rarest of opportunities. This made us warm and ecstatic to celebrate with the Pope his apostolic visit. Not all have the chance in their lifetime to go to Rome and visit the pope. So this was our rare chance to have a glimpse of him. The few seconds of a moment when Pope Francis passed by our location was purely blissful. It has all erased our worries and the long hours of waiting in the rain. Much more intensified when we all saw him smiling and waving to us vigorously from a short distance, as if we were long time friends who have not seen each other and greeting us with such passion. As soon as the celebration in Luneta Park finished, the rains also stopped. The faithful were able to go back to their homes safely. Although drenched and very tired, everyone seem to be contented, re-energized, and renewed of their faith with God. There were also events held in other locations that similarly celebrated His feast in His name, such as the #Sinulog in #Cebu, the #AtiAtihan in #Kalibo #Aklan, and in many other places. All of these are not purely coincidental but are signs of His omnipotence and omnipresence. Telling us He is within us and around us. Guiding us. Protecting us. Loving us. Blessing us throughout our days. God bless us all and more blessed days to come!
