*A CLARION CALL* Everyone who saw it said, “We have never heard of such a thing! Nothing like this has ever happened since the Israelites left Egypt! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! WHAT WILL IT BE? Judges 19:30 GNB The human race is strangely confronted with strange times lining up with strange occurrences! Most of which are a fulfilment of the scriptures. However, there are certain situations in which we find ourselves, and things that happen to us, as a result of our negligence, unbelief, and irreverence to God. Nothing happens on earth without God giving a prior information about it to some of His chosen vessels per time (Deut. 29:29). But, our response to Gods message(s) determine the final outcome. Such is the case with the issue of Islamic insurgence in Nigeria & other nations. I stand to be corrected, according to 2013 World Watch List report, 66% of Christians killed globally, were Nigerian Christians killed in Nigeria. * On 10 March, 2010, Islamic terrorists slaughtered 501 Christians in the village of Dogo Nahawa, Jos. * On 7 July, 2012, Fulani Islamic terrorists slaughtered 67 Christians around 7.00a.m. in Wase, Riyom Local Government, Plateau State. * On 14 May, 2013, Rev. Faye Pama, the Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria in Borno State, was shot and killed by members of the Boko Haram inside his house in Maiduguri. * On 6 July, 2013, Boko Haram militants attacked Government Secondary School, Mamudo, Yobe state and killed over 42 students as they slept in the dormitory. * On Sunday 29 September, 2013, Boko Haram insurgents attacked College of Agriculture in Gujba, Yobe state and killed over 40 students as they slept in the dormitory. * Again, in Nasarawa state, over 90 Christians were killed by Fulani herdsmen in 2013 in various attacks in Doma and Lafia Local Governments. * On 10 November, 2013, over 36 Christians were killed in the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state while over 6,000 Christians were displaced. (visit: kingdomnewsng) Now, wait a minute, (before you unleash your anger against these Islamists who act with great impunity) do you know that God had been giving a warning to the Church in Nigeria over this issue since the seventies? He warned & later allowed a civil war; warned again & keeps warning the Church to wake up to her responsibilities. But we counted on the progress of the Church & by the mid-nineties, the Church in Nigeria deviated from raising disciples for Christ to raising millionaires for our empires. Deceived by pride and love of the world, the Church in Nigeria became short-sighted, unworthy of trust & also committed the sin of irresponsibility. And now, hundreds of thousands of our brethren have been murdered in cold blood; yet, the major part of the Church is yet to wake up to this clarion call for the revival we need- the revival of holiness & righteousness, evangelistic & discipleship focus, selflessness & wholesome unity,... WAY TO GO: 1. Individually, we must, like Jonah, cry out to God in our private closets, for deliverance from the belly of this fish. Brethren, this heat & mans inhumanity to man has become unbearable; and, there seems to be no end to it. 2. We must, like Esther, ESTABLISH A NETWORK FOR SUSTAINED, CONCERTED & UNITED PRAYERS. Esther made a sacrificial decision that brought about the required change. She realised that her comfort and safety (by virtue of her position and placement in the palace) has no guarantee, and for the fact that her bowels long for the peace & safety of her brethren, she acted aright. 3.
