A CME was organized about Rheumatoid Arthritis conducted by department of Rheumatology at Choithram Hospital & Research Centre, Indore on 30.08.2014. On this occasion Dr. Sumeet Agrawal, Head of department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology of Artemis hospital, Gurgaon was the chief guest. He delivered a lecture at Choithram Hospital auditorium on Rheumatoid Arthritis and discussed on causes, symptoms and treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatology is a fast developing field with very less no. of trained doctors in India. Recently Dr. Ashish Badika trained in Rheumatology from Premier Institute CMC, Vellore has joined in the department of Rheumatology at Choithram Hospital, Indore. He is very much experienced in treatment of diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Systemic Lupus Erythemetosus (SLE), Scleroderma, Gout, Vasculitic disorder and Pediatric Rheumatoid Arthritis. Advanced treatment of all above mentioned illness are available at CHRC. This disease is commonly associated in society. The main symptoms of disease are multiple joint pains, swelling and morning stiffness around joints. Rheumatoid arthritis disease if diagnosed early and treated well prevents patients from developing deformities. Biological Therapy is an advanced treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. This therapy controls disease very fast and keeps it latent for long time and protects from getting deformities. It should be given under supervision of specialist known as Rheumatologist. For diagnosis of this disease some primary investigations are necessary like RA Factor, Anti CCP Antibody, X-ray, Ultrasound and M.R.I. All these facilities are available in Choithram Hospital. In evening a seminar was also organized at Hotel Radisson Blue at 8.00 pm. On this occasion Dr. Ashish Badika, Consultant Rheumatology, CHRC and Dr. Sumeet Agrawal, Consultant Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon delivered lectures on Inflammatory Arthritis- Beyond Rheumatoid Arthritis and Therapeutic Advances in Rheumatic Diseases respectively. There were around 150 renowned consultants of Indore who attended this session. Dr. V.K. Naneria, Head of department of Orthopedics, CHRC was the chief guest in CHRC Auditorium and around 80-100 renowned consultants of CHRC attended this session. Dr. D.K. Taneja, Ex. Dean of M.G.M. Medical College, Indore and Dr. A.K. Pancholia Head of department of Medicine, Clinical & Preventive Cardiology, Arihant Hospital, Indore were the chief guests at Hotel Radisson Blue
