A CNN Reporters personal spiritual Journey in Rishikesh Here is an CNN article on Rishikesh by a CNN reporter / seekers first hand reporting where she titles the write up as spiritual awakening. Interesting are the stories of a Brazilian who heard the inner call to a guru though a vision he had since his childhood and the other story of a Indian boy who asked a sadhu visiting his house to take him with him at the young age of 8 and eventually convinced the sadhu with his determination to go with him to Rishikesh and eventually doing spiritual and environmental teachings in Rishikesh. Today, on campus, I met a young Nepalese student (studying in the BU philosophy department) who knows so much about Gita and equally about other philosophies and yet earnestly believes the power of Gita to answer lifes questions; at the same time, you could feel that he is conflicted with the surface level message of Gita enough that he labels himself as an atheist. Very interesting! He sees all sorts of inconsistencies in the Indian subcontinent that he feels bad that the land that has Gita could also care less about its land, its poor and its disabled .
