A COMMITMENT TO SERVE AND DEVELOP by Serge Drapé, Lieutenant Governor, French Polynesia A few hours before the arrival on the ground of the Fenua of our Governor Graham CHICK and his wife Loïs, for a weeks visit in French Polynesia, I wanted to thank you all, officers and members of the clubs of the Polynesian Kiwanis for the work done these last few months. The efforts of all, will allow us today to present our Governor, a polynesian Kiwanis active and dynamic, resolutely oriented toward development and service forchildren and the community. The actions of the clubs ,on the ground, have continued since the beginning of this year 2014, with the same impetus and conviction of a fundamental commitment to the service for children and the community. I have observed this at each of my travels. The decentralization of a number of our statutory meetings, just as the magnificent success of the Saturday, April 5th, with the Kiwanis One Day, our Kiwanienne 5, were as many, shared moments, efforts and solidarity around the same goals, those of the Kiwanis International, You do live and practise on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity, during the tour our Governor is going to do in every clubs, to submit your actions, your projects and objectives, your successes, your hopes or your difficulties. I have the deep conviction that, with the creation of a two new clubs, the club Nati Here no Tahiti, in Arue, and the new Builders Club at college Anne-Marie Javouhey in Papeete, we are entering a phase of development and renewal, through our youth, in the Kiwanis in French Polynesia. Your commitment, your efforts and your availability to the service of others are the keys of this success. I thank all of you sincerely.
