A CRY FOR LOVE!!! Hold your breath because it is not what you think. Many think that to be holy it is necessary to stop being human. My friend Margret is a very good Catholic who goes to daily Masses, observes her Easter duty, spends time praying and sleeping in the Chapel. Her sick husband is left unattended to, while her children are living like orphans. Though he prays her daily Rosary with the accompaniment of all the mysteries. Margret belongs to different pious organizations and attends both their weekly and monthly meetings. In her piety, she neglects her sick husband and children. Sometimes, the children would go begging for food and occasionally, steal. Have I made myself a judge over Margret? Why am I interested in another womans life? Find out soon! It is very pathetic that Margrets husband later died in his anguish and her children living miserably. Is this actually Holiness? I will allow you to answer the question. You want to know how to be holy? Commenting on the Gospel according to Matthew 25: 35 -45 Blessed Mother Teresa said: “At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.” Holiness is not to flee the world, but rather it is the transformation from this world. It is to know that we are able to leave marks of heaven in the life of all those that are around us. To do all things well is to love and love is what everyone seeks. Dont close your heart to the cry of the poor because you are praying. Dont chase the poor child away because you think he is distracting your prayer. I have never in anyway condemned prayer but our prayer life and spiritual life should be accompanied by true love. Our sanctimonious life without the love of God is empty. Our first vocation as Christians is to love as Christ has loved us, therefore, let us meditate of Pope Francis reflection on Evagelium Gaudium, when he writes, “To be evangelizers of souls, we need to develop a spiritual taste for being close to people’s lives and to discover that this is itself a source of greater joy” Pope Benedict in his own part says: “Only my readiness to encounter my neighbour and to show him love makes me sensitive to God as well. Only if I serve my neighbour can my eyes be opened to what God does for me and how much he loves me” (Deus Caritas est, no. 18). Finally, dont condemn Margret, but try not to live like Margret. Thats my reflection for today. Pax!
