A Call to Arms.... As Fathers Day approaches, let us not forget those dads who are divorced and struggle to stay in their childrens lives. I believe one can learn a lesson or two from history as we look toward tomorrow. What lessons have I learned, as a divorced-dad? I have learned to view with skepticism a system that I once believed while blind, was also fair and unbiased! Just before the last session of the Texas Legislature I developed a proposal that could be a framework for shared parenting in custody issues within our Family Court System. As new ideas almost never pass the first time around, I thought I might try again. I ask my fellow divorced- dads in this post to join with and give me your thoughts and opinions on the idea of shared parenting.
