A Chiropractor moves bones in the spine (called an adjustment). - TopicsExpress

A Chiropractor moves bones in the spine (called an adjustment). Because of this, some people think that chiropractic is for neck/back pain. While it can help with that, it is so much more. The REASON we adjust the spine is because running down your spinal column is your spinal cord, which attaches to your brain at the bottom of your skull. Coming off of your spinal cord are nerves. These nerves go to EVERYTHING in your body... muscles, skin, organs, extremities, etc... EVERYTHING. So... if a bone in your spine is out of place and putting pressure on one or more of these nerves, whatever that nerve is going to WILL have decreased function. Its virtually impossible for it to function at its best when the nerve flow coming from the brain, down the spinal cord and out that nerve is interrupted. If that nerve is going to your stomach, you will have stomach issues, lungs... some sort of lung problem (asthma, bronchitis), heart... heart problems, skin... skin problems, etc. Most of the time, the nerve interference causes no pain, so people dont even know they have a problem. Eventually, your body will produce some type of symptom... pain, malfunction, sickness, cancer, and in extreme cases, death. Im sure that seems far fetched for some that death is on that list, but think about it this way... if you have a bone that is out of place, causing pressure on one of the nerves going to your heart... do you think your heart will be able to function properly? No. Of course not. After years of not functioning properly, could you die of a heart attack with no prior symptoms at all? Of course. Thats why we hear of healthy people dying of heart attacks and no one understands why.
