A Choice of Faith Of faiths in the world just look at a few: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. Christianity is different in how it is practiced in comparison. The other three believe we must practice very specific behavior and follow very specific rules in order to reach their form of heaven. Only Christianity teaches that God loved us enough to make a way for us. Only Christianity teaches that God forgives based on His grace, and He opens His arms to us not because of how good we are or how much we do. In some ways, Christianity is the opposite of religion. If religion is about humans reaching up to get to God, Christianity is about God reaching down to rescue us. Think about it this way: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and all other religions require that you DO certain things in order to make it to the afterlife. Christianity is the only faith system that believes that God has already DONE what is necessary for His children to reach Him. So in which religion is right many people want to believe that what’s most important is the sincerity of a person’s faith. “Isn’t the sincerity with which I seek God more important than the way I seek Him?” Imagine a skydiver mistakenly reaching for his backpack instead of his parachute just before jumping out of a plane. His well-intentioned error won’t help slow his descent to the earth. It is possible to be sincere, but to be sincerely wrong. Since all religions are different we have to make a choice. Realize today God has chosen you. Receive his grace, confess your sin and accept Jesus in your heart.
