A Community in Turmoil: How did we get here and how do we break the cycle? Wednesday, August 20, 2014 6:00 p.m. Dr. Henry Givens Jr. Administration Building Main Auditorium 3026 Laclede Ave., St. Louis, MO, 63103 .... As tempers continue to flare and questions linger around events in Ferguson, Mo., Harris-Stowe State University will host a panel of national experts in a variety of fields to discuss the racial divide and cultural implications stemming from the Michael Brown murder. “A Community in Turmoil: How did we get here and how do we break the cycle?” will be held on Wednesday, August 20 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Dr. Henry Givens Jr. Administration Building Main Auditorium. According to a release from the university, the symposium will examine the events in Ferguson, and their link to ongoing civil rights issues in Missouri and throughout the United States.
