A DEFENSIVE POSTURE: Be on guard | I heard this defensiveness today after speaking with someone for an extended period. The justifying and defending... the inability to own their apparent flaws! A person who is always in a defensive posture is very tiring. OMG We really need to be aware of this behavior. Im sure we all can get defensive about certain topics. However, we shouldnt be defensive about everything. I think this particular behavior drives a wedge in relationships because it is subtle and it is not a conscious thing... How defensive ARE YOU? On a continuum from 1 (easy going, easy to talk to) - 10 (you take exception to every spoken word). Do you realize when youve gotten defensive? Im just wondering... how many people know when it happens and how often it happens in every day conversations?
