A DIVISIVE MAN A divisive man is one who makes a choice pleasing to himself regardless of all other considerations. He is obstinately attached to an opinion that is not sound and threatens the unity of the church. Such a man is to be rebuked; and if he does not heed the rebuke, he is to be avoided. In application, warn those who bring division in the church to stop. The Bible’s language is strong: After one or two warnings by leadership, fellowship is to be broken with one who continues to be divisive. Read Titus 3: 10, 11. Understand therefore that, division in the church is seen as perverse behaviour. Seek unity in the body of Christ.
