A FRENCH RIVIERA-STYLE LONG LAZY LUNCH AT BREEZE – SUNDAY 3RD AUGUST Dear members and friends, Ever watched the movies of a film star sitting and chatting for long hours with beautiful people in balmy weather?................ We have decided to do something different and experiment a little– a lazy, slow lunch hosted by Peter Hamilton at Breeze at Cape Yamu (see attachment). This is not your typical Phuket Sunday brunch, but a social gathering where the food – all 16 courses – is brought to a long communal table. Conviviality will abound, helped by the flow of 5 delightful wines. The food is rustic French Provencal cuisine, inspired by unassuming family style Sunday lunches, where the focus is on the quality of local ingredients - see menu attached – accompanied by: · Chandon Brut Rose NV . Lamblin & Fils Petit Chablis 2012 · M de Minuty Rose de Provence 2013 · a mystery red, which you can enjoy evaluating blind and · Pacherenc Maestria, 2011, dessert wine Don’t plan on leaving before 4.30pm as Breeze is famous for its wide range of desserts, pastries and cakes – probably 4 or 5 courses in total- that the pastry Chef at Breeze does so well. We’ll meet at the bar from 12.30pm and be seated at 1.00pm. Dress code is cool casual, with chains/ribbons for members. This is a great opportunity to introduce friends to La Chaine de Rotisseurs in view of the price and special menu. Something for everyone. During the dinner the first of The Chaine plaques sent from Paris, will be presented to owners/managers of key restaurants who are present. The price will be Baht 3,300 for members and Baht 3,600 for guests. Payment arrangements are as normal: Cash payments, made at Claude’s office. Bank transfers, followed up by sending a scan of the transaction to Claude’s assistant, Khun Fai. ATM or ibanking transfers, accompanied with an SMS to Khun Fai, plus a phone call to identify yourself as the payer. Bank details: Kasikorn Bank, a/c number 3322782577. Khun Fai’s email is fai@crisseyco and her phone: 0835046787. We look forward to seeing you there ************************** Breeze at Cape Yamu Perfectly located on the beautiful peninsula of Cape Yamu, Breeze at Cape Yamu provides stunning views of Phang Nga bay and the distant town of Phuket. The open-sided interior is an outgoing, artistic and somewhat eccentric space that leads out to a comfy lounge area overlooking a crystal blue infinity pool. Handpicked from one of the top restaurants in Canada – Toqué - the French-Canadian trained team brings their passion and expertise for Modern French cuisine to Thailand executing each dish with love and focusing whole-heartedly on flavor. Adapting from the city hustle of Montreal to the sun-kissed shores of Thailand, the team takes a down-to-earth attitude and a culinary approach founded upon the backbone of local produce. Despite having a menu that is ever-evolving, the cooking remains unassuming, and all the better for it. Long Lazy Lunch Stemming from a philosophy that food is meant to be enjoyed together, Breeze at Cape Yamu’s signature ‘Long Lazy Lunch’ that takes place every Sunday focuses on the ‘sociability of eating’. Designed especially for Les Chaine Des Rotisseurs, the menu for this bespoke ‘Long Lazy Lunch’ will showcase the very best of rustic French cuisine and takes strong inspiration from the family-style long lunches enjoyed on Summer afternoons all along the Cote D’Azur - This really is the closest thing you’ll find to a French Rivera-style meal outside of the Mediterranean. Arrive around 12.30pm to panoramic views across Phang Nga Bay, a shaded wood-covered terrace, a cool, open plan outdoor dining space, the friendliest staff and a warm, family-run vibe. You will be served freshly shucked oysters at the cocktail bar, along with Prosecco chilled to perfection. As the lunch commences, guests will be invited to take a seat at the long, farmhouse table where they will spend the afternoon enjoying a sumptuous sixteen-course menu to be served ‘family-style’. With the wine flowing, the conversation tends to naturally turn towards the variety and style of food, reignited regularly with the arrival of each new dish delivered by the assiduous kitchen team. Then, as the afternoon begins to draw toward evening, the finalé of the ‘Long Lazy Lunch’ is always our fantastic selection of ‘home-style’ desserts and pastries. *********************** Kind Regards, Peter Bailli
