Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” – John 16:24 When Bartimaeus, a blind man, was led to Jesus, the Lord asked him a strange question: “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Oh, Rabboni, that I might receive my sight” and the Bible says he was immediately healed. God wants us to be specific when we pray. God says, “Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” Is your farm in debt? Are you carrying an overdraft that is crippling you? Our crop of corn was suffering very badly recently. I fasted and prayed and asked God for rain. We had forty millimetres (just under two inches) of beautiful soaking, drenching rain and it is still raining this morning. Do the same. And don’t forget to thank God when He gives specific answers to your specific prayers. He is a miracle-working God; nothing is impossible to Him (Luke I: 37). When you ask, ask humbly, but ask specifically and according to His will. He is a good God and He wants to bless you.
