A Friendship Specialty If I was an angel, I would walk with you through your day Holding your hand all the way If an angel I could be I would make all your wishes come real I would take all your dreams Line them all up in a row upstream And put them within your reach If I was an angel, I would always be by your side Making sure you had plenty of sunshine And when the days got a little dark I would gather all the sunshines rays Shine them all your way To lighten your path along the way If I was an angel, I would heal your broken heart Weave it back together part by part With some magic thread And an enchanting feather If I was an angel, I would gather each and every star And send you one when you feel sad or blue And even if you need a sparkling boost If I was an angel we would never be apart I would be that friend you need, Faithful and true If an angel I could be I would sit on your shoulder Whispering all the things you need to hear Removing any large boulders That might slow down your journey to being happy My blessings would be sent to you Whenever the need might arise I would make sure there was always a smile In your loving eyes I would be beside you, Every second of the day and night But an angel I cannot be But a friend I am totally So if some days you feel all alone I can be that angel to sing you a happy song And maybe for a minute or two Your problems will seem little and few Each day I send my best wishes to you Hoping your day is always happy and safe And at night you are in my prayers, too Because, my friend, you are special to me And to you, I might not be an angel But if a friend you ever need That I will always be Forever together, you and me Marked by my trueness and quality A friendship specialty ©Robert Small 9/4/13
