A HIGHER LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING When we have conflicts with others, what do we often do? What is usually your first reaction? The easiest thing is to blame the other party. It takes the least thought. You dont need to be a genius, or mature, to blame others. Even 5 year olds know how to blame others! What I have found more enriching and helpful, what can help us grow, is to withdraw, and look at the underlying causes, and to have the humility and objectivity, to realize that we, too, may have contributed to the conflicts, wittingly, or unwittingly. An intense period of reflection, can even help us see which natural laws we flouted, that brought the disharmony about. This acceptance, objectivity, and reflection may lead us to peace, and a higher level of understanding. It could contribute to our quest for perpetual growth. Michael Newman
