A HUGE thank you to students, staff and members of the community from the United Student Body (USB) at Fairmont High School for all of your support for Spirit Chain 2014! With the entire district participating, hat day helped raised more than $2000!!! A big shout out to the elementary schools with the largest donations: Southdale, which raised $382.98, and Indian Riffle which donated $318.85. The school that donated the most to Spirit Chain was Kettering Middle School, with a huge donation of $983!! Notes KMS class council advisor and duck race organizer, Kristin Lutz, Students purchased ducks, and we had all kinds...ninjas, zombies, armed forces, cupcakes, crazy hair, glow-in-the-dark, and many more. The ducks were then eligible to participate in our Rubber Duck Race, held Monday, September 29th, at the Indian Riffle Park stream. We raised a total of $983 for Spirit Chain, which equals out to one dollar from each of the 983 students at KMS! Three KMS students will represent their school, along with high school USB (class council) members, at the game Friday to pull out the chain and -- fingers crossed -- beat Centerville in Spirit Chain 2014! You can still make a donation to Spirit Chain 2014...if you drop off your donation at the Fairmont Activities Office by lunchtime on Friday, it will still count toward Fairmonts total. Fairmonts Spirit Chain 2014 charities are the Kettering Backpack Program, United Rehabilitation Services, We Care Arts and William Wynns Liters of Learning.
