A HUMBLE APPEAL TO THE NIGERIAN SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY! I must start by commending the effort of this community on its unrelenting commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians by way of educating, informing and entertaining the citizens. We must all appreciate the contributions of all individuals on National issues irrespective of our divergent views and ideologies, we must as well condemn the attitudes of those that are abusing the social media platforms. However, the recent situation in the North Eastern states is still receiving adequate attention on the social media platforms yet, issues are being expose and solutions are being proffer but, slowly being implemented. While we commend the little attention from the Government, we also salute the military for their doggedness and improvement. Nevertheless, the insurgents should still consider to explore the option of peace through dialogue as offered my the President. We may be monitoring media reports coming from the North Eastern States on the plight of families and individuals caught between the Boko Haram crisis which shows there are humanitarian situations emanating from the major insecurity crisis. Women and children are scampering for safety from their villages and homes that are destroyed and burnt down by the insurgents or those caught In between the fight. These families are wandering around other neighboring countries, states and communities seeking for shelter, food and medical attention. This is the time for us to look towards the direction of the helpless victims! It is on this note that I humbly appeal to the vibrant social media communities which consist of individual Nigerians, our friends both home and abroad to consider setting up a HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT TEAM to help the victims. We may wish to recall that we have done similar effort in Plateau State under the volunteering leadership of Dr. Aliyu Tilde. It was successfully conducted without hitches. If we find this idea worthy and we are willing to help, why not solicit for the experience of same individual that was tested and trusted in person of Dr. Aliyu Tilde to head the team, individuals like Zainab Magaji, Ben Amechi, Habu Mamman, Kaka Kyari, Dr. Sayyid Jidda and two other persons from Yobe to volunteer as team members. OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND SUPPORT MUST NOT ONLY REMAIN ON CYBER WALL BECAUSE WE ARE NOT LIVING ON THE NET BUT, IN OUR COMMUNITIES. Kindly share it for the idea to be accepted. Thank you all.
