A Holy Commotion One of the biggest problems we have in the Lord - TopicsExpress

A Holy Commotion One of the biggest problems we have in the Lord is we want commotion-free walks. We want a place where theres no commotion. If you want a place where theres no commotion, go to a cemetery. If you find commotion in a cemetery, youre in trouble. In a dead place theres no commotion, but light in darkness causes commotion. The life of God in a dead world will cause commotion. When Messiah came into the world he caused a stir in Bethlehem. In Nazareth and Galilee, there was commotion. Palm Sunday, there was commotion. They said, Who is this who stirs up the whole city? Gods presence causes commotion in daily life. If Hes come into your life, it will cause commotion in your routine. Dont go for a commotion-free walk; itll be dead. Maybe what you need is something to get stirred up a bit. Let God interrupt your routine. Let Him shake us out of it. Forget the rut, forget the routine; let the presence of God come fresh in your life. Let it cause a commotion because God wants to bring that cemetery in your life into Palm Sunday. Todays Mission: Step out of your routine today -- let God interrupt your day, speak to you, and cause some Holy Spirit commotion and change. Romans 5:1-5 5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Developing Patience By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! A way to be thankful When you find a way to be thankful for something, you find the value in it. When you find a way to be thankful, you find a way to benefit. That is especially true when you’re thankful for things that would not seem at first to be beneficial. The more you can be thankful for, the more real, meaningful value there will be in your life. Be thankful for the difficulties. Your gratitude will make them less difficult and much easier to bear. Be thankful for whatever you’ve just experienced. In that state of thankfulness you’ll find powerful lessons to be learned. Gratitude enables you to see anything in a whole new, empowering light. Be thankful, and you’ll understand how truly rich you already are, and how much more richness you can now create. Find a way to be thankful, and you’ll discover many new ways to move forward. Find a way to be thankful, and you’ll see that limitless abundance is yours to live. The Influence Of Gossip I cannot afford to overlook the influence that other people have on me. there are cases where people quarrel, fight and even commit murder because they are influenced by gossip, influenced by the words of others. To what extent do I check that I am not being influenced by gossip? Negativity in the mind is like poison. Negative thoughts are the seeds of negative actions. It might seem like a simple everyday occurrence - my friends tell me in the strictest confidence that such and such a person is like this and does so-and-so. I listen and accept without question because of the friendship. My attitude and actions now become influenced by my friends words, and I find myself acting and reacting in accordance with the information fed to me. Gossip and guessing bring sorrow, heaviness and distrust. Poison can come in many disguises, but poison is poison whether from an enemy or a friend. Love, Debbie
