A Kashmir youth, who was undergoing training in an Islamic seminary in central India’s Gujarat, was found dead in neighboring Rajasthan on Sunday morning. Abid Ahmad Gania, 21, who was traning at Darul Uloom Faizani Madina in Gujarat’s Ahmadabad since past eight months, was found dead in Udiapur, police told Kashmir Dispatch. Abid, hailing from Larsun in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, had left the seminary around fifteen days ago. “He called my brother yesterday and told him that he was running short of money and wanted to come home,” Hilal Ahmad, who runs a Quran teaching centre in Laar, said. Hilal, after receiving many complaints about Abid from the locals, had motivated him to take up the training in Gujarat. “He remained absent from the seminary in Gujarat for many days. He seemed to be in some kind of problem but didn’t explain over the phone. Therefore my brother asked him to return,” he said. Station House Officer, Udiapur, Amar Puri, told Kashmir Dispatch that they found Abid’s body early in the morning. “There were no injury marks on his body and we have informed our counterparts in Kashmir.” He said they traced his antecedents through a ATM card they found on him. A local police officer said they were trying to get his body from Rajasthan. Abid is survived by his parents and five sisters. #MainAdmin
