A LETTER TO NKRUMAH Dear Osagyefo, Accept as I extend to you the greetings of all Ghanaians on whose lips your immortality reigns. May I humbly bring to your notice that it took me 3 months to organize myself for this missive, during this 3 months I solicited questions and issues individuals would like to bring to your door steps through facebook (never mind, facebook is a social media in our time and its part of the neocolonialism you warned us of) and as such the content of this missive does not entirely reflect my personal opinion. 41 years after your departure and days to celebrating founder’s day at the aegis of your contribution to Ghana and Africa, I consider it appropriate to keep you inform from the stand point of a young rising Pan-African, am sure if you check the records where you are of history yet to be fulfilled you will come across identity and that perhaps justifies why I stand on proper locus to be writing to you. It is rather unfortunate that each year your immortality is reeled on whether you were the true founder of our independence, last I heard one NPP (metamorphosised from the UP tradition) Professor saying that JB Danquah was the true founder of Ghana but of course they can not take such faith to the African Union where your replica stands in glory. I look forward visiting there one day to have a feel of your presence. Once I have hinted on the AU it is imperative to bring you proceedings about your beloved Union. African leaders now meet in a building which is monitored 24/7 by China. HOW? Please with all due respect don’t repeat such a question but what do you expect when China gave a free gift of a HQ for the core functions of the Union? Mugabe? He is now alone, what can he do? But all hope is not lost, I see a new breed of young people with the unflinching consciousness to redeem the situation but please don’t advice that we demolish the building for we have our own program and path towards African Unity. If you spirit did hover around as we were told whilst young of the dead, then I believe you are inclined to the famous election petition. You know the double standard positions of the UP now NPP tradition better so it will not take me to school you on that but just to drop some few points. That they have been sacrifice for peace, am sure they will soon be calling themselves the givers of Ghana’s peace. Well they want electoral reforms but it seems they themselves do not know what reforms are. Why? Please tell me if the following constitute reform. Making the polling officer sign as law establish. Sack the EC boss. President should consult IPAC before appointing EC boss. EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH you say, yes this is what they are referring to as reforms. HHHMMMMM As for your cockerel, honestly we need to roast it and invite you for a dinner for the CPP has been brought to its lowest discredit. If there is any credit to give, then it should be directed towards one legon lecturer and comrade Kwesi Pratt who have been at the helm of affairs not for the CPP but to ensure your good works is constantly in the minds of people. As a socialist I know it matters to you much the wellbeing of the people, the NDC government has been faithful to the needs of Ghanaians thereby creating a buoyant economy, the young president at the helm of affairs JM instead of Osagyefo is doing all possible to ensure that the Ghana you dream of comes to reality but the distraction are too much. WHAT! These people really worried you. Was there anything like all inclusive government in your time? Certainly I know you will not tolerate such nonsense. But am sure you will welcome calls for a national development agenda that transcend political parties, no no no that is not socialism. We have now come to a common agreement that mixed economy is the sure bet for viable economic development give us your blessing. May I humbly report some events in your family at this point. Sekuo has overly cross carpet and I heard someone say he is thinking of contesting for President as independent candidate. Samia lost her seat and is boxing herself up as the Chair of the CPP. The one that looks like you is pencil down for an AU appointment. But am told more squad are lacing their defense to identify themselves as your children, never mind after all you are an African man and you reputation is worth the continental links. Whiles writing this letter my 12 year old cousin asked, minini Nkrumah is dead how can he receive your letter? It is for the living to tell and the African myth to explain. I wish to end here. –CD meaning Cedric Dzelu extend my regards to the Asomdwe hene and all the Pan-African leaders. –CD
