A LOVELESS MARRIAGE IS WORSE THAN A LIFE- LONG OF SINGLE-HOOD. If you marry somebody you cannot celebrate, you will spend the rest of your life tolerating. God’s Word: “If you are wise, you are wise for yourself and if you scorn you will bear it alone.” (Proverb 9:12) The second most important consideration after the voice of God is love. Marry only the person you love. Love is the bedrock of a home that will not hit the rock. Do not do what you may live to regret for the rest of your life. Never marry anybody you do not love for any reason. A loveless marriage is worse than a life-long of singlehood. Remember you will live the rest of your life with this person. You will see him/her day and night. You will likely have a baby that will look exactly like him/her. A carbon copy of somebody you do not love will have to sit on your lap for years or even suck your breast. Do not pretend. Never allow a loveless relationship to lead to marriage. You may ask, “What of if I feel God is leading me but I do not love him/her?” I will like you to check your so-called God’s direction. You may be wrong. And if you are right, then open your mind. Destroy the image of your dream husband/wife that does not allow you to be in love with God’s choice for you. Destroy that idol and you will see the flood of love filling your heart. At times, the present status of the person may be the reason why you do not love him/her. Let me tell you this: His present position is not his future. He is in transition going to a glorious destination. Be very sure you are in love before you say “Yes I do”
