A Lesson For All Mankind On my recent trip to Atlanta I had the huge privilege of being invited to visit the incredible Noahs Ark Animal sanctuary run by Jama Hedgecoth and her incredible team including Kandi Allen who very kindly spent time giving both myself and Antonio Rodriguez from Its a Lab Thing an VIP Tour which allowed us to get much closer to the animals to photograph them. Noahs Ark was set up to home exotic animals and pets some of which have been confiscated by the Police from Drug dealers, they also take in animals that people have bought as so called pets and realised that they cannot cope of give them a life, such as bears, tigers, lions, crocodiles, horses, goats, monkeys, parrots, rabbits you name it!!!! Noahs Ark is truly a magical place and when you see the animals you instantly know they are happy and living a full life. Yes, of course we would all prefer them to be out in their wild environment but these animals were taken as youngsters and would never survive in the wild. Each habitat has been thoroughly researched and constructed. The sanctuary is only open for three hours a day so that the animals have their own time and are not disrupted by visitors. The other staggering thing is that there is no entry charge!!!! the $33,000.00 dollars it takes to run per month is raised by donations only!!!! incredible!!! The one thing that i shall remember for ever is seeing different species of animals living together in perfect harmony and displaying love and affection for one another. Noahs Ark is the only place where you can see a Bear, Lion and Tiger living together, they are inseparable as they were found at 3 months of age in a cellar of a drug dealer and in a very bad state of health. Since being taken into the sanctuary they live together perfectly, it amazing. I also saw and had to video something that very few people have witnessed a bear grooming a Tiger who was lapping up every second of it. I have attached the video I took of this Little Anne the Bear ( who is the boss in this enclosure) and Doc the Tiger. I could have stayed there all day and watched this incredible site. If only mankind could learn lessons from nature and live together in perfect harmony no matter who you are or where you have come from, wouldnt the World be a truly richer and better place to live. Its not only animals that are cared for at Noahs Ark but they also have a childrens home on the site where there live many adopted children in a loving and caring environment. The whole sanctuary just radiates love and caring and I feel so honoured to have been invited and to meet the team who are truly inspirational and have left their mark on me and I hope one day to return. If you are ever in Atlanta or indeed America then i cannot recommend visiting them enough, here is their website noahs-ark.org or if you would like to make a donation to support the incredible work that they do. I will be posting more images from my visit but for now i wanted you to see this incredible video which you are free to share if you would like too. Lets hope one day we are as wise as the Animal Kingdom we sadly are so far behind.
