A Longford judge has struck out a case against two brothers who were illegally cutting turf in a NHA bog in Co. Longford and wanted the extracted turf to be given to the "needy of Longford" instead of being put back in drainage ditches to help restore the bog. This is not the first time that Irish judges have not taken laws in relation to protection of the environment seriously. Europe needs to intervene ASAP.
