A Loving Life – 1 Corinthians 13 Summer Sermon Series 2014 by Pastor Brock Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:4a Love is Patient. Love is Kind. We had an amazing Sunday at Pekin First Nazarene. Exceptional Worship, Great fellowship, answered prayer and a family of believers growing in Christ! In the message we focused on the radical call to love for every believer. We rob this passage of it power if we sentimentalize it or try to make it simply nice poetry. Instead we have this incredible life-changing call to be patient and kind as God has been to us. The Holy Spirit comes near to change our attitudes and motivate us to become the most patient and kind people we can be because of Christ and for our relationships. At the end we all made the following pledge. Maybe you would like to make this pledge yourself? --- I WILL CHOOSE TO BE PATIENT. --- I WILL CHOOSE TO BE KIND. --- I WILL LET GOD SHOW ME MY TRUE SELF AND CHANGE MY ATTITUDES. --- I WILL REMEMBER HOW PATIENT AND KIND GOD HAS BEE WITH ME. --- I WILL LEARN TO WATCH MY WORDS AND BECOME A BETTER LISTENER. --- I WILL BURY MY HARSH LANGUAGE AND TONE. --- I WILL ACCEPT THAT ALL OF US ARE IN PROCESS. --- I WILL BECOME A PERSON OF TRUE LOVE. --- LOVE IS PATIENT! LOVE IS KIND! I WILL PRACTICE IT! Today, be the most loving person you can be with Christ in you. Your relationship with God and others could be powerfully different if you choose A LOVING LIFE!
