A MAJOR PERSONAL LOSS ..... Today I lost a good friend. For decades she put up a good fight against a debilitating disease, multiple sclerosis. We all know someone who is fighting a chronic disease, myself among them and you fight not just for your own future but to stay with your loved ones until the universe takes its course .....Her husband is one of the countless unsung heroes in this world ..... not only did he take care of her as the ultimate caregiver, he continued to care for his friends as well ..... Nat Brembry may have been the luckiest woman in the world to have been married to Ron Bremby whom we with affection call Brem. ..... Brem and I were more than fraternity Brothers in Kappa Alpha Psi, we also worked together for decades as part of the management staff for George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic ..... We were also fellow teachers in Los Angeles ..... without him, I would never have had the quality of life that Ive had ..... I learned what real brotherhood as a Kappa Man really meant ...... I served at his pleasure learrning how to care for band members on the road and meeting individual needs of each of them ..... he helped me become a schoolteacher and led me through the process to fulfill a dream I had since I was younger ..... Nat and I shared his time along with his daughter and countless friends ..... trust the fact that he has been the backbone of a lot of us ..... I am glad Nat lived long enough to see her daughter get married ...... a day of ultra happiness for her, Brem and everyone of us guest ..... Some of the younger P-Funk band members may not know how tight the staff was back in the day ..... ask Blackbyrd, Clip, Lige and others who and what Brem meant to them ...... You will understand the inner and outer strength that made him the husband that Nat needed in her life ..... If you are a Kappa ..... if you are a P-Funker ..... If you had a teacher that cared about you and kept it real ...... Pray for Nats safe journey home to the Lord .....And pray for Brem to have the strength to get through this journey and care for his daughter, a child of the Funk ..... He is a real Black Man who honored his Queen .....
