A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER OF THE FORGOTTEN PET ADVOCATES - PLEASE - TopicsExpress

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER OF THE FORGOTTEN PET ADVOCATES - PLEASE READ: I would like to personally thank all of the FPA volunteers, kennel owners and followers for another year of changing lives (not only for the pets we adopted, but their families as well). So far for year 2014 (it’s not over yet) we have adopted 164 cats and dogs into loving forever homes. This doesn’t count the numerous ones, we were lucky enough to get pulled out of the boarding facilities and placed into rescue groups. Our reach extends a bit further than abandoned animals in kennels. We have donated houses, fencing and vetting to several rural community chained dogs (not illegal in Texas) and hopefully educated them on taking them off the chain and making them part of their family. We have been part of countless feral cat trappings, where we vetted them and re-released them to be continued to be cared for by the colony caregiver – but no more babies! We have helped a homeless woman by providing foster care and vetting for her pet, until she is on her feet. FPA has helped individual rescuers network and vet (when we are able) their rescue, to whom they did not have the heart to turn into animal control – but did not have room in their home to keep them. We have sent several to an in-home trainer, if extra help was needed to make them adoptable. Not only have we received monetary donations to continue our work, we have been sent items off our wish list, Kuranda beds, Amazon-Smile and Kroger donations (when you link your account – they give back to FPA). All these things put together, help FPA - help animals. Please share our page, our animals and our donation link (all mentioned above can be found here): forgottenpetadvocates/donate.html – FPA is a 501 ©(3) with no paid staff. 100% goes towards helping animals and is tax deductible. I was lucky enough to deliver quite a few of our 164 adopted this year. I enjoyed spending time with the families and the dog or cat they were saving. When I left each and every one, I felt good and knew they were the perfect fit for them. Our adoption process and procedures is in place to ensure a great fit for all. Thank you all for being part of The Forgotten Pet Advocates family and although I am eternally grateful and happy for the ones that got homes, I think of all the ones still left behind. If you are unable to adopt - pick one dog or cat and advocate for that pet until adopted. They are what drives us each day to keep going – one by one – til there is none. ~Marlene
