A MESSAGE TO ALL PACIFIC LUTHERAN STUDENTS: How many times do you - TopicsExpress

A MESSAGE TO ALL PACIFIC LUTHERAN STUDENTS: How many times do you make a judgment about an individual without ever going out of your shell to speak to them? How many times do you make an assumption without ever finding evidence for it? While it may seem only politicians and newscasters must check their facts, or at least to the ability of humanitys pathetic sensory system, this is in fact not the case. Before you act like a 12 year old tattling on the kid who played hooky, maybe speak to that person, give them the benefit of the doubt instead of running to some illusive authority to do your elementary dirty work. Some person in a uniform isnt going to help a harmless situation, and most likely will only exacerbate the situation to an unnecessary and idiotic degree. Grow up, stop making judgments, and instead, use the tool that most species on earth were not given: empathy. Think about how it makes you feel when a person judges your character without even speaking a single word to you, or confirming their mental, possibly verbal, accusation with legitimate facts(i.e. this person physically, mentally, or emotionally harms living and nonliving things with malicious intent). Rather than simply using our five basic senses and our generally feeble framework of the world, remember how bitter, angry, and truly ashamed with humanity you feel when another human uses the complexity of their brain, the most complex brain on earth, to condemn another individual for something they merely perceive. Do your generation good, and step back from the ease and comfort of judgment. Do humanity good, and show true, genuine, untarnished kindness and acceptance to all life, not just those who fit your small and irrelevant perception of reality. Do yourself good, and let go of the insecurities and social obligations that define your existence. Treat ALL people with kindness, and if you find someone is hard to be kind to, then you know you should try even harder.
