A MOMENT WITH MARLA My mother, who has gone on to be with the Lord, was a phenomenal singer. My sister inherited that gift. One of the songs I remember her singing was God Can Do Anything. The song says God can do anything. God can do anything. God can do anything but fail. He can save, He can heal. I know He can and He will. God can do anything but fail. Sometimes when Im going through a rough patch or stressful situation I hear my mothers voice. At times its her speaking and other times its her singing. The message seems to always be pertinent to my current situation. This morning I heard her singing God Can Do Anything. Sometimes when were pressed with hard situations that weary, drain or perplex us we wonder where is God and will my current situation ever change. If youve had a lot of blows, severe attacks or just been waiting a long time for change to come your faith can become undermined. In Genesis God promised Abraham a son that would come from his own body and not through his servant Eliezer even though Abraham was up in years. Many years later in Genesis 18 three men appeared before Abrahams tent. While Abraham hurried about trying to be hospitable they asked the whereabouts of his wife Sarah. Then the Lord said This time next year Sarah will have a son. Sarah being old laughed and said to herself After Im worn out and my master is old will I now have this pleasure? The Lord replied Is there anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son. God did just what He said He would do. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90 when she bore their son Isaac. They waited 25 years to receive the fulfillment of the promise that an heir would come from them and not through Abrahams servant Eliezer. God can do anything!!! No matter what youre faced with today, perplexities that are trying to cloud your mind or prayers that remain unanswered rest in Gods word and His power. He is omnipotent! There is absolutely nothing too hard for Him and you certainly arent far from His reach. God can do anything!!!
