A MUSLIM MIRACLE “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” Romans 12:12 Pastor Dale Thomas tells the following experience of how God performed a miracle in the life of a Muslim in Liberia, Africa. This experience proves once again that no matter what the circumstances or what a person’s beliefs are, God always finds the sincere soul who is looking for truth. Magnus S. Kallon was a Muslim working for the Universal Insurance Company, in Monrovia, Liberia. To supplement his income, he also worked part time at the American Embassy in the same town. With Magnus worked a Christian friend, Dwight Barnes. Magnus the Muslim and Dwight the Christian became friends, because they worked for the same insurance company and both came from the neighbouring West African country of Sierra Leone. Whenever Magnus had a problem, he shared it with his Christian friend, Dwight. At such occasions, Dwight always would pray with Magnus. Magnus was very intrigued with the way Dwight prayed. It was as if he were talking to a Friend he knows very well. This created an interest in Magnus to know more about Christianity. One day Magnus visited the Adventist headquarters in town and inquired about our beliefs and doctrines. With the help of the president’s wife, Mrs Gordon, he was soon enjoying the Voice of Prophecy lessons. He also studies these lessons with his friend, Dwight. The two friends then attended a Revelation Seminar, where they both became fully convinced of the truth and were baptized. Brother K. Mutembwa, the local publishing director, invited the two friends to use their talents to sell gospel literature and thus prepare people for eternal life rather than insurance policies for this present world. Both of them already bought some books from local literature evangelists, and they noticed that they were humble, sincere, dedicated people but not highly educated. They asked why Brother Mutembwa did not employ better qualified, educated, and representative workers. His answers must have pleased them, because soon they both resigned from their jobs to become professional literature evangelists. They enrolled at the Literature Ministry Seminary, where Brother Mutembwa was the director, to prepare for their important work of winning souls for the kingdom of God. This is again a miracle of grace. God works in mysterious ways to reach the atheist, the Muslim, the Christian, yes, everybody. “The lost sheep of God’s fold are scattered in every place, and the work that should be done for them is being neglected. From the light given me I know that where there is one canvasser in the field, there should be one hundred” (Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 315). Miracles of Grace
