A Message from the Presidents Office: 21 November 2013 Memo to: The University Community Subject: Simpler Christmas Celebrations for 2013 In the spirit of solidarity with our people who have suffered Yolandas devastation, let us simplify our Christmas celebrations and re-channel our resources to the relief and rehabilitation work that is ongoing. I am instructing the Vice Presidents, unit heads, and event organizers to scale down plans and preparations for our annual Christmas activities, such as the following: - Christmas Parks - Alumni homecoming - Christmas parties - Gift-giving Residual funds for these activities will be redirected to the Ateneo DreamTeam in support of the relief and rebuilding efforts of the nation. I am pleased to note that some units have already started to plan in this direction, generously donating whatever savings they have generated from this move to simplify their activities. Thank you in advance for your understanding and participation. With simpler celebrations and simpler lives, we will discover yet again the true meaning of the Incarnation, and find rest in what God has done in divesting himself of heaven to be with us forever.
