A Message to all our communities across the Dulais Valley. Can I take this opportunity in thanking each and everyone of you who as normal in challenging times when facilities for our communities come under threat of closure come together with well thought out ideas, Views and physical support to the cause rally around to save them. I am referring to in this instant The Dulais Valley Silver Band and Music Centre, a well attended Meeting took place on Wednesday 25th June 2014 where commitment from those there, to bring children back to learn to play musical instruments was very welcome, others there joined the committee to assure continuity and progress with the plans for the future. Donations from and promised , by Four different organisations was also a bonus, its worth mentioning one of these groups,Sixty pounds on the night from a group of Model Flying ehnthusiastics who are not from the village but attended the meeting to show their support, the club is known as Crwydryn Model Flying Club, who will also when appropriate use the building and pay a fee for their own meetings, other ideas from them is in the pipeline, I could go on and on here from all the other fantastic ideas given but the bottom line is The Silver Band and Music Centre is safe for now and you will all be updated when the Music teacher will be starting there, dates , times etc to follow, of course this will also be done by Newsletter and posters around the Valley as its appreciated that not everyone has the use of social Media sites. It would be remiss of me not to mention the many telephone, Facebook, email and verbal support from many people all over the Dulais Valley and beyond, well wishing and help shown from across the Neath and Port Talbot Borough, the power of Social Media used correctly does indeed help all our communities, so finally another big thank you to everyone involved and sorry if I missed anyone out but you know who you are and are fully appreciated by the whole of The Dulais Valley Silver Band and Music Centre patriots. I would still urge anyone who can still think of further ideas for this building to be used to generate income to continue to contact myself in the usual way as sustainability is paramount to the future success of The Dulais Valley Silver Band and Music Centre.
