A Milwaukee Police officer was treated and released after a vehicle being driven by an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman struck the patrol wagon he was driving. On October 30th, just before 11:30 a.m., two officers, one driving a squad car and another following in a patrol wagon, were heading west on Good Hope Road to a call regarding a burglary. As the squads proceed through the intersection at 99th Street, an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman driving a red sedan northbound on 99th Street, runs a red light striking the rear driver’s side of the patrol wagon. The second crash heard on the video is the light pole crashing onto the patrol wagon. Two male passengers in the striking vehicle fled on foot from the crash scene. Officers apprehended a 21-year-old a short distance later. When asked why he was running the man responded: “Because we hit a police car.” The driver and a female passenger, also 18, remained on scene were also treated and released. The driver was issued citations for driving without a license, operating a vehicle without insurance, and disregarding a traffic signal.
