“A Ministry of Comfort” By T. R. C. Norris From cold gray dawn through sleepless night, my soul longs for a glimpse of light; I feel so sad and all alone, without a friend or a place to call home; Who can I turn to? Does anyone care? Does anyone even know that I’m here? Was I created to flounder and die? Where is that promised reward in the sky? When the time came for Jesus to go, He said there is something you all need to know; As you see me leaving, now watch for another, one who like Me will be closer than a brother. A source of comfort and strength and light, Someone to guide you and show you what’s right. The presence of God’s unconditional love, dwelling within and sent from above. But where can I find this Holy Spirit? For I’m so unworthy and lacking in merit. How will I know when the Comforter arrives? How will He use me to touch other’s lives? I read the promises in God’s Holy Word, but it’s all so unlike what I’ve seen and heard. Is there really peace in this troubled land? Can someone please take hold of my hand? All you must do is to bloom where you’re planted, trust and your every wish will be granted. Try being a comfort to those around you, let the love of God begin to shine through. Learn to walk by faith, not sight. Trust in God rather than your own might; And soon you will find your own ministry, bringing comfort to all that you see.
