A.N.C TOO CORRUPT TO GOVERN SOUTH AFRICA ANY MORE? These opponents of the A.N.C. are likely to find fertile ground among those gathered at the memorial. Andile Nkoci, a 25-year-old miner from Eastern Cape Province, said he felt betrayed by the party that has governed South Africa for most of his life. “They have abandoned us,” Mr. Nkoci said. “They are only looking to make money for themselves.” He alluded to the latest scandal to envelop Mr. Zuma: $25 million in government money spent on security and infrastructure upgrades at the president’s private home in his village, Nkandla. “The government wastes all that money in Nkandla for Zuma, but we live in shacks,” Mr. Nkoci said. “These people have had their chance. We need change in this country.” nytimes/2013/08/17/world/africa/killing-of-striking-workers-alters-south-africa-politics.html?_r=0
