A N R which stood for American Natural Resources originally of Grand Rapids, MI. Good example of non trucking corporate conglomerate buying truck lines. Same with investment bankers. They always screw them up. A N R some how got involved that it was going to put a group of truck lines together and become the next C F of the world. All of the companies it bought were great carriers. Associated Truck Lines of Grand Rapids, Graves Truck Lines of Salina, KS, and Garrett Truck Lines of Pocatello, ID were the first three. Followed by Centralia Cartage Co of Centralia, IL then Knox Truck Lines of Rockford, IL and Neudendorf of Madison, WI. There may have been one or two more but those are the core three and following smaller three. American Natural Resources was bought by Coastal Energy which really never had the desire to have a truck line in the first place. A fallen flag that drug 6 good companies down with it.
