A NICE MILD START TO THE WEEK THEN COLDER TEMPERATURES RETURN FOR THE WEEKEND: To look at our beautiful afternoon sunshine youd never suspect we have a stalled out front overhead. Its weak and there are no significant clouds associated with it with Knoxville and Chattanooga both reporting partly cloudy skies but otherwise sunshine abounds. The front is a boundary between cooler drier air to its north where were currently located and warm moist air to its south. Over the next few hours the front will push north as a warm front giving us a short spell of unseasonably mild temperatures for daytime highs and overnight lows through Tuesday. Nice weather will continue through noon Tuesday before clouds increase ahead of a weak cold front that will arrive late Tuesday night and some scattered showers as it approaches. Hopefully that pushes on through by mid-week clearing our skies and returning temperatures to more seasonable levels. While Wednesday and Thursday are looking good another reinforcing shot of colder air arrives late Friday into the weekend with a few showers and what appears to be a spell of unseasonably cold temperatures for the weekend. There may be some lingering clouds into Saturday morning and a left over shower or a flurry for the mountains but again if it moves on east well hopefully see increasing sunshine for Saturday afternoon into Sunday but chilly. Enjoy the week ahead! ___________________________________________________ History & Almanac: Max Temperature: Min Temperature: Normal 66 °F 40 °F Record 83 °F (2010) 22 °F (2013) Yesterday 69 °F 33 °F Yesterdays Heating Degree Days: 14 No precipitation has been recorded the past 24 hours.
