A NOTE FROM DENNIS LOCORRIERE: I have just received an email from Dennis in response to the discussion between Rex and I under the previous post of the Australian interview. To set the record straight, I will post it for you here in full: Nik - Seems like theres a bit of confusion about the origins of the band. For the sake of accuracy, it was George, Ray and me who started playing together as Dr Hook and The Medicine Show in the Band Box in Union City, New Jersey. The bit about me lying and saying I could play bass was a joke I made up in the early days of interviews. I could actually play the instrument and did play it on the entire first album and much of the second and third. Billy, who had played in a couple of bands with George and Ray down south, was sent for several months later. Wed already had 3, maybe 4, drummers before Jay David joined. Jay quit the band after the third album, Belly Up, and George left after we recorded Bankrupt. The rest, as they say, is history. All the best! D.L.~ P.S. I wouldnt take anything the presenters said too seriously. After all, they were talking to me. When they interview Ray they say the same silly things to and about him, including referring to him as Dr Hook.
