A NOTE TO THE FANS Many of you asked why write a book like Elvis Before Graceland. After all, we know just about everything about Elvis, dont we? Not really. Elvis worked for James Tipler in the 50s, while at Crown Electric. I worked for Mr. Tipler at Tips Electric in the 80s and in doing so, I was given the unique opportunity to peek through the window of time and see how life was then for Elvis. First, Elvis was A LOT more than a singer, or The King. Someone said that a person like Elvis comes about only every 100 years or so. I profoundly disagree. There will NEVER be another Elvis. Elvis transcended musical, social, political, and religious boundaries. He took off through the clouds of a troubled world, and from his heights he rained joy and happiness on all of us. He unified this world and its people and showed us that we, as humans, can indeed come together and be better people for one another. More importantly, he brought HOPE to millions of people, and he showed us that all things are possible. Today, these things are just as important. In the troubled world we live today, he still shines like a musical bright light in an otherwise dark tunnel of human suffering. He wipes the tears off our eyes with a velvet-like sound of love. Most of us look at his success, but tend to overlook the road and the hardship he endured on his way there. How did he become what he did? What shaped and reshaped him? Do people really understand what he must have overcome in order to become such a shining light? Do people really understand his childhood or his teenage years? Why should a symbol of freedom come out of so many constraints, both social and economic? Its time to answer some of these questions, and this was what led to ELVIS BEFORE GRACELAND on Amazon. We will understand Elvis and his true value as a human, and not just a singer, only after we answer these questions. You will find the answers in Elvis Before Graceland. Enjoy it. It is for you.
