A PIECE AT A TIME! Sometimes a problem looks so incredibly complex, larger than life, and unsolvable simply because of how we approach it. Most times we want to solve the entire problem as one single unit. The truth is that each problem is a small piece of a greater problem. Charles Kettering, the inventor, had a unique method of solving problems. He would break down each problem into the smallest possible subproblems. Then he did research to find out which subproblems had already been solved. He often found that what looked like a huge problem had previously been 98 percent solved by others. Then he tackled what was left. Beloved, sometimes we are not meant to figure out a solution to an entire problem, just the part of it that wasn’t already solved. In our Wisdom Ñugget, Jesus is faced with an enormous problem; he had 5 thousand men, beside women and children to feed. His disciples were clearly overwhelmed by the audacity of the problem that their only solution was to send the people away. Facing such a large problem as a single piece can really be frustrating. But Jesus tackled the problem by breaking it into smaller sections; he first asked them to locate a simple launch box, which was solved in the form of a young lad with a launch pack of 5 loaves and 2 fishes. Then he asked them to create some order by making the people sit in groups of fifties. As they accomplished and solved the smaller parts of the larger problem, they contributed to one of the most remarkable miracles of all time. Friends, if you take some time to break down your current problems, I assure you, you will discover that a lot of the smaller parts already have solutions that will add up to solving the larger problem. WISDOM NUGGET: Luke 9:17 “They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. Let us pray: Father, grant me grace to break down every problem to smaller parts, that I may be able to see the solutions you have already provided. In Jesus name.
