A POLITE NOTICE. It has come to my attention that, during a conversation in the Harbour Bar, Portrush last night, a view was expressed which suggested that the Oliver Turkington Memorial Dinner was restricted only to those of us who remain standing whilst having a wee wee. I am very happy to make clear that this is absolutely NOT the case. Indeed, I am delighted that so many ladies have already purchased a ticket for the event with many others confirming to me that they will do so just as soon as they find their purse. Whilst it certainly true that no girls were present on the 1989 Japan tour, this is purely because Coleraine Inst was and for a little while longer remains an all-boy academical institution. Had Coleraine High School pupils been eligible to play for our First XV, Im sure many would have gone on to do so. I trust this clarifies matters and I look forward to seeing a huge female contingent in the Humphreys Hall on our big night. Separate sit down toilet facilities will be provided for those who require them. Please spread the word.
