A Personal Letter to my Supporters... As you know, tomorrow is the conclusion of one of the most critical and intense tasks I have embarked on thus for in my life; my first real campaign. First I want to thank everyone who has supported me in this journey over the last couple of months. It started a little over a year ago when I moved back to Memphis and started my political career with The Rincon Strategy Firm. Here I was able to exercise and implement all the skills, leadership experience and passion for politics that I’ve gained as a student at Central High School and Saint Mary’s College. Continuing that passion in my city, I wanted the youth of Memphis to become more involved; therefore, I made it my mission to change the absence of my generation in the political circle. In this last year, I’ve have met so many people, developed my professional career, reestablished the Young Democrats of Shelby County organization, elected Director of Programs for the Tennessee College Democrats, started graduate school at the University of Memphis in Public Administration, and became an active Executive Committee Member on the Shelby County Democratic Party. With so much experience gained throughout the years, the State Executive Committee was the next step in expanding the mission of bridging the youth gap in politics in Tennessee. It is an intimidating process by putting myself out there for thousands of people to know. More so, it feels like the hardest job interview I’ve ever had; hoping that tens of thousands of voters recognize my name and elect me to execute the position of state executive committeewoman. The outcome adds more pressure to the situation because I really want to take on this position for genuine passion and dedication to Memphis, my friends and family, the Democratic Party, and the millennial generation. We are the future of this state and it’s time we have a seat at the table. With that being said, Shelby County voters, I am asking for your vote and support in tomorrow’s election. This is the largest election in the history of our county. Give a qualified young professional and loyal Democrat the opportunity to represent our generation and all the Democrats in Tennessee on the governing body of the Tennessee Democratic Party. I am more than a qualified, if not the most qualified, candidate in the race. I guarantee that my experience and education will aid in the execution of this position. So I ask that you tell all your friends and family in Orange Mound, Oak Haven, Hickory Hill and Southeast Shelby to get out and vote London Lamar State Executive Committeewoman District 33! Sincerely, London
