A Pondering Moment: Why is it that we humans feel it necessary to possess things? We must possess and own our lands, homes, pets, cars, even our words. Makes little sense to me. Do these things give someone the glorified feeling of self-worth? If being wealthy is necessary for one to feel good about themselves, then I guess I am a minority. To me, what truly gives one true happiness is to give what we have to those that really need them. People are dying from starvation here in this country. Yet, how many people here feel the need to give to them the food they need? As winter comes upon us, there are many that will not have heat. How many that are able will give them the heat they need? Deep within us, we know that we are a compassionate people. Yet, there are those whose hearts have hardened so much they cant see past their own families. Let us take time this holiday season to not only spread happiness, cheer, songs, and prayers, but to also help those that are in great need. It does not have to cost much. Give an old blanket to a homeless person, or a coat that isnt worn anymore. Give food to the needy. Visit someone that you may know that is incarcerated. There are many things we can start doing to make this world a better place. It begins with each one of us.
