A Ponte Vedra Beach couple were arrested on methamphetamine charges today (Friday) following the execution of a search warrant at their Sawgrass home. The two suspects were identified as David Christopher Austin, 34, and Kayleigh Adair Wyman, 22, both of 188 Bermuda Ct., Ponte Vedra Beach. The two were charged with possession of methamphetamine, production of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia and were booked into the County Jail.Special Investigations Detectives began the investigation following complaints by neighbors of suspicious activity at the home and the possibility that methamphetamine was being manufactured. Detectives gathered enough probable cause of that activity and obtained a search warrant for the residence. Shortly before 9:00 a.m. today detectives with the Sheriff’s Office along with the Clandestine Lab Enforcement Team served that warrant. Detectives seized a large amount of precursors and equipment allegedly used to manufacture methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.St. Johns County Haz-Mat team also responded to decontaminate those who were exposed to the meth products.A 26-year old Clay County man was arrested when he drove to the residence during the execution of the search warrant on a suspended license. He was identified as John David Whitaker, 26, 3427 Doctors Lake Dr., Orange Park.
